What we process
When you visit: IP address, date and time, page requested (server log files). When you write to us: name, email and your text. When you order: name, email, purchase data and the voucher code you used.
Purpose and legal basis
Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) for orders and downloads, legitimate interest (f) for secure operation, consent (a) for the live chat and the PayPal integration.
Cookies
We set a session cookie for sign-in and cart, one for your chosen language and one that stores your cookie choice. PayPal cookies are only set after you agree. The live chat stores nothing until you start it yourself.
Third-party services
Payments run through PayPal (PayPal S.à r.l., Luxembourg); loading it transmits your IP address there, and that only happens after your consent. The live chat does not use an external provider — it runs on our own web space at IONOS SE in Germany.
Live chat
The chat only starts once you open it yourself and enter a name and email address. We then process your name, your email address, the content and time of your messages, and the IP address and browser identifier recorded when the conversation is opened. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given when you start the chat; where the matter concerns an existing or prospective order, also Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. We ask for the email address so we can still reply after you have left the site.
So your conversation survives moving to another page, your browser stores a random identifier in local storage. It holds no personal data and disappears when you clear this site's browser data. We delete chat transcripts once your matter is settled, and at the latest six months after the last message. To notice a new message, our server wakes our own devices through a notification service. Only the signal that something is new is transmitted — neither your name nor your text leaves our server for this.
Automated replies in the chat
When none of us is at the desk, an AI assistant answers first. For this we transmit the transcript of that one conversation to Anthropic PBC, San Francisco, USA, acting as our processor. The assistant sees neither other conversations nor your other data. The transfer to the USA is based on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. As soon as we reply ourselves, the assistant switches off in that conversation. You can ask to speak to a human at any time.
Newsletter
For the newsletter we store your email address, your chosen language and the date and time of sign-up and confirmation. You only receive mail after clicking the link in our confirmation email (double opt-in). The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email; after that we send nothing more. Emails are sent via the mail server of our host IONOS. When you buy, you can also voluntarily tick that you want promotional emails and voucher codes; we then store the time, wording and order number as proof. Without that tick we send you no advertising.
Reviews
Only people who bought an item can review it, via the link from their order. We store the stars, your text, the name you enter and the date, and show them next to the item; your email address is never shown. The legal basis is your consent by submitting (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). We delete your review on request at any time.
Visitor count
We count how often each page is visited per day. Neither your IP address nor any identifier is stored and no extra cookie is set; the result is only an anonymous total per page and day. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Email delivery
Form messages and order confirmations are sent by our host's mail server (IONOS SE, Germany). This transmits the recipient address, the sender address and the content of the message.
How long we keep data
Order data is kept for the statutory periods; enquiries are deleted once they are handled.
Your rights
Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. You can withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority.
